Diva Missy here...I discovered
this tip when I was in college,
and I still recommend it today.
Go to a Beauty Academy for
a haircut, perm, or color.
These cosmetology schools
can be found in most major
cities, and offer great prices
to the general public.
For an example, the one closest
to me offers a shampoo, conditioner
and haircut for $5.00, color
or highlighting for $25.00
($40 for foils) and $27.00
for a perm and style. This
beauty academy also offers
European facials for $20,and
brow or lip waxing for $4.
And don’t worry; since
this is normally the final
step before they graduate,
these students have had plenty
of practice before practicing
on you!
Look in your yellow pages
for schools near you or try
this web site: www.beautyschool.com
(once you pick your state,
scroll to the bottom of the
page where the schools are
listed.)

Minty
Fresh
DivaPam here...looking for
an inexpensive fresh flower
arrangement and room freshener
in one? Try my money saving
idea. You don’t need
to knock over a mint to afford
this DivaDelight.
I brew iced tea very often
for my family. To avoid
buying expensive mint in
the grocery store every
time I need it, I place
sprigs of mint (stems whole)
in water, keep it in a vase
in my kitchen and use fresh
leaves as needed.
One day I went out of town
to visit DivaMissy and realized
upon my return that the
mint had grown roots and
looked as fresh as the day
I picked it some 3 weeks
earlier!
I also couldn't help but
notice that the room was
filled with a delightful
minty fragrance. I now use
mint as room fresheners
and as greenery in flower
arrangements.
Mint plants can be purchased
for a buck or 2 and multiply
like weeds in the garden.
It can be placed alone in
vases or paired with flowers
for a creative flower arrangement.
If you really want to save
money, pair it with long
living flowers like daises,
carnations or purple (dark
blue) or yellow statice
and change the water daily.
Your flower arrangement
will look great and your
room will smell fresh…and
all for a few bucks!

a bottle of this perfume
sells for $82) Check it
