Diva Missy
here...Yes, it’s true…we
made an appearance at the
Metrolina Expo in Charlotte
a few weekends ago, where
Charlotte’s Largest
Yard Sale was held. We had
a Diva booth among all of
the trash and treasures.
Of course Diva Pam and I
managed to take turns greeting
our fans and holding down
the fort, so that we could
each take advantage of the
surroundings and do a little
shopping.
We were so excited to be
able to meet Emily Rowse
and Marie Baker, two of
our favorite Discount Divas.
Emily will be opening her
very own resale store in
Charlotte called “AvaLilly’s
Fine Resale Boutique , and
Marie has a vintage resale
store on Ebay called “The
Vintage Peddler.”
We also met some of the
fine folks from the local
Goodwill chapter. They had
the best booth with boxes
and boxes of clothes for
$1!
Although the highlight of
our day was meeting all
the “Discount Diva’s
in training” and established
“Discount Divas,”
we also purchased some great
items at low prices. I bought
a Mr. Coffee coffee cup
warmer for $1, a combination
am/fm radio alarm clock
and noise machine for $3.00.
I got a cordless phone for
$2, and an antique green
glass pitcher for $1.
Diva Pam bought some nice
binoculars in a leather
case for $15, a large pottery
ice tea urn for $10, a recirculating
table top fountain complete
with rocks for $5 and a
straw purse to make a diva
basket, $3.00.
One thing that we discovered
while talking to the Discount
Diva’s, is that everyone
agrees…..once you
get the resale shopping
bug, it is very hard to
purchase new items after
that. Of course we have
always known that; but it
was fun hearing it from
all of the individual converts.
Remember … Resale
not Retail!
