Diva Missy here...Do
you know anyone interested in Folk Art?
I was just reading in a local magazine
that there is to be a Lost and Found
Auction of Folk Art items that were
recently found in the Smithsonian Institute
Warehouse.
The auction will be held in Buford,
Georgia, which is North of Atlanta,
on May 3rd.
Apparently a famous folk art collector,
Herbert Hemphill died and gave his
entire collection to the Smithsonian.
They kept some items and housed the
rest in a warehouse. They recently
found 600 boxes and sent them here
to be auctioned.
The woman in charge said that everything
will go, even if it is for 50 cents
as there is no reserve that has to
be met. And not only that, there will
be a lot of free food and drink, always
the sign of a good time!
You can check out the items for sale,
and any additional information on
the website, www.slotinfolkart.com.
