Diva Missy here...As
you all may know, my discount dude and
I have bought a new house. Since we
are getting ready to move in a few weeks,
I should not be buying anything else.
But as I told myself this, I was passing
up many a nice looking yard sale.
Finally,
I could not take it anymore, I just
had to turn into one that I spotted
half way between my old house and
my new house. It was a big extravaganza…the
house was on a lake, and there were
flags everywhere and the entire lot
next door was set up for parking.
Anyway, did I rake it in! I got a
solid wood heavy desk for $15...it
is small enough to go in a hallway,
is very simple and very old, and I
absolutely love it!
Then for $5 I bought a pink and blue
trunk to put in one of my girls' rooms
for toy storage, a fabulous old heavy
silver vase..the kind that looks like
a trophy, or ice bucket for $15 and
a shabby chic big white mirror with
flowers etched into the glass for
$2.
Finally, so that my dude would not
get mad , I bought him a great pair
of camouflage binoculars for $1.
Boy, do I feel great...like I just
swam a mile! (Well, actually, I don't
know what that feels like
but I'm sure it's a lot like marathon
shopping.) It is truly amazing what
some great bargains can do for your
mood...I had forgotten all of that
with the stress of moving!
Yes, I have hidden the mirror and
vase, but the desk was too big. And
my discount dude can’t get mad
at me for buying the trunk and basket,
as they are great storage items!!
