How
to search in 4 easy steps:
1. Choose location.
You MUST choose at least one state or province.
2. Narrow your search.
This step is OPTIONAL.
OPTIONAL: Choose
Type of Sale: This can help you narrow your
search by showing you only a particular
type of store. Not sure what the sale types
mean? Click
here.
OPTIONAL: Choose Open Type: This can also
help narrow your search by showing you stores
that are open everyday, only on weekends,
monthly, etc. This is very useful if you
are looking for specialty flea markets,
antique shows and special events as they
are generally on a monthly or annual basis.
Not sure what the open types mean? Click
here.
OPTIONAL: Add Keywords. You can further
narrow your search by entering specific
types of items such as clothes, toys, furniture
and/or city names and/or store names. YOU
CAN’T type in a question. Just separate
your keywords with commas.
3. Hit the Get Results
button.
4. Review your Search
Results.
Results are automatically
sorted by city but you can change the sort
order by choosing one of the options on
the “Sort list by” section at
the top of the results page. (see How
do I sort my results?)
How
do I sort my results?
Go to the top of the Search
Results page. There you will see “Sort
list by: city | sale type | accepts savings
card” Say, for ex, you want to
see all stores that accept the Divas Savings
Card. Click on the “accepts
savings card” link. Doing this
will bring all of those stores to the top of
the list. Then if you want to see the listings
grouped by the type of sale or store (thrift,
consignment, etc.) sort the list by sale type.
Help!
I’ve got too many results.
Try narrowing your search. If you only searched
by state, trying adding one or two of the options
in the Choose Sale
Type or Choose
Open Type menu boxes on the search page.
Or try adding a keyword or two if your needs
are really specific.
How
do I refine my results?
At the top of the Search
Results page is a section called Refine
your Results with additional Keywords.
By putting in keywords here, you can drill down
to the type of stores you are looking for. For
example, let's say your results show you a listing
of stores and sales in Georgia, but now you
want to only see those in Atlanta. Type the
keyword Atlanta into the Refine
Results box and hit Go. Your new results
will now only show stores and sales in Atlanta.
You can also use keywords that reflect the type
of merchandise or store you are looking for.
You can use one keyword or several.
Help!
I keep getting no results.
This can happen for a number of reasons:
1. Did you choose at least one state or province
in the Choose Location menu box?
2. Are you making your search too narrow by
choosing too many things in the optional Choose
Sale Type and Choose Open type boxes? Try eliminating
some of the criteria for your search.
3. Are you using too many keywords? Again, try
eliminating words.
4. We just may not have what you are looking
for yet. However, new stores and sales are being
added all the time.
5. If you entered a keyword,
double check the spelling or only enter
in the beginning part of the word if you aren't
sure about how a word may appear. For ex: if
you type “country-style” and get
no results, try typing in just “country.”
If the word “antiques” produces
no results, type in “antique.” Also
be careful about punctuation. For ex:
type “children” or “children's”—not
“childrens.” (Childrens without
the apostrophe “s” is not grammatically
correct.)
What
do sale type and open type mean? Sale type
is a description of the kind of store or sale
that a particular listing is. For example: Antique,
consignment, thrift. Open
type gives you an idea of the kind of
hours a sale or store keeps. For example: store
is open daily but some flea markets occur only
monthly.
Where
do I find the store’s address and phone
number?
In the list of Search
Results, click on the store name that
you are interested in. That will bring up another,
smaller window with details about that particular
sale or store.
